I can not imagine any conspiracy theory to the initial administration of oath of office to President Obama by Chief Justice John Roberts. First he called Mr.Obama a senator then he went on to mix the words in the oath as prescribed by the US constitution. I don't want to dismiss the whole episode as a simple mistake. Mr. Roberts showed sheer arrogance to the process and ignorance to the US constitution. People had greater expectation from the constitutional office of the Chief Justice but Mr.Roberts made the entire episode beyond disappointment.
The goof up is similar to an elementary school teacher reading the alphabets in a different order. The position of the chief justice being a higher constitutional post, should not have goofed up the very basic thing. If he can not prepare himself for a process that takes under two minutes, one wonders how he can preside over a lengthy trial. If Mr. Roberts did not want to administer the oath of office or if did not want a black man to be the US president, he could have recused himself by resigning from the post.
The chief justice not only stole the thunder from billions of people watching the inaugural session all around the world but exhibited his contempt towards the will of the American people.
