Indian Hypocrisy

India is becoming very narrow-minded where we recognize the talent of foreigners by naming our satellites in their honor, giving prestigious Gandhi peace & Bharath Ratna awards to them and now a foreigner will command the army during the republic day parade. Indian government suddenly wakes up after a magasasay award for Dr.Shanta of the Adyar Cancer Institute, Chennai and awards her the Padma Shree. Be it Sivaji Ganesan, Arvind Kejriwal, Satyajit Ray, the ladies of Bhopal disaster and many more, who I could not remember are in this list. The Indian government approves the noble work of an Indian, based on the appreciation from a foreign affiliation. We fail to recognize those, whose work has helped the poorest of the poor but still decorate those who have done nothing for our country.

I am not behind awards but behind the recognition that is given. Sathyajit Ray was given Bharat Ratna after an Oscar, Sivaji was given dada sahib balke after Chevaliar, Dr.Shanta after Magassasay. All I am saying is that Indian Government does its recognition based on a foreign organization whilst it recognizes foreigners.

very true and sad :(! donno and i guess this is not realted to this post at all.. irundalum like how the finest quality or the first quality products are exported and only the second and third grade products are sold for Indians, Indians are treated as secondary persons in our country :(

In the current globalism policy, I feel India has the latest technology and products available but at a higher cost. Be it the cell phones, automotive, broadband, education, etc., we have the top notch items but comes with a heavy price tag for an ordinary citizen. This is also common in developed countries. So I am not sure about India getting third grade products!!! The main reason why common products look ( or are) third grade is because of lack of laws that asks for better standards in par with developed countries.
